Paula Degnan Weinberg, a 30-year resident of Groton, after a short illness passed away on June 9. Our family would like to thank the community for their continued support during this trying time.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, July 6 at the Unitarian Church, beginning at 1 p.m. The service will be followed by a good old-fashioned Irish party and a showing of her artwork at her home, at 23 Old Ayer Road. All are welcome to attend. Paula loved her small town and the people in it. Both were an inspiration to her art.
We would specifically like to thank local merchants for their support in planning this gathering — Filhos for catering the celebration and Groton Market for providing liquid refreshments. In addition, our gratitude to Lawrence Academy for donating tables and chairs.
Also, one of her paintings will be exhibited at the Main Street Café, as of next week. A booth will be dedicated to Paula’s art work as well as the work she did with autistic children at Grotonfest 2008. Future donations will be earmarked to support art for autistic kids in Paula’s name.
