PEPPERELL — John P. “Jack” Carr, 65, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was born in Newton on May 6, 1943, son of the late John J. and Alice (McArdle) Carr. He was a resident of Pepperell since age 12, when he moved to the family hay and cattle farm.

Educated in the local schools, he was a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School. He ran the family farm with his late brother, Robert R. Carr, until his death in March 2008.

A gentle man and dedicated uncle, he adored his nieces and loved to be with his family. When not on the farm, he had also worked at C.W. Fuels in Pepperell for 29 years.

Mr. Carr was also a member of the D.A.V.

He is survived by his nieces, Stacie L. Carr, and Brandi L. Carr and her husband, Edward, of Pepperell; Dodi L. Harju, of Brunswick, Maine; Christa L. Harju, of Townsend; and his great-niece, Grace Carr, of Pepperell. He is also survived by his mini dachshund, “Wiena,” and “Anna Bell” the cow.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 28 at St. Joseph’s Church in Pepperell.
