Hawthorne Brook says hello to Principal Steven Coughlin

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

TOWNSEND — A recent “Meet and Greet” at the Hawthorne Brook Middle School gave parents the chance to meet the school’s new principal, Steven Coughlin.

Dr. Maureen Marshall, superintendent of the North Middlesex Regional School District, introduced Coughlin and said he would provide students with the “best educational experience.” Also on hand to meet him was Arthur O’Connor, assistant Hawthorne Brook principal, along with most of the school faculty and staff.

Coughlin, a teacher for some 20 years who also coached basketball and football, is coming from the Tyngsboro public schools. Coughlin said he expects to spend 10 years at Hawthorne Brook before retiring.

The new principal said he met with sixth, seventh and eight grade students. While he received a warm reception from the sixth and seventh graders, he said, the eight graders were “not interested, they’re ready to move on.”
