TOWNSEND — Can’t afford the gas to go on vacation this year? Send your children to Summer Rec. instead! They are sure to have a fun summer!
Five-week Summer Program: Hawthorne Brook Middle School, weekdays 9 a.m. to noon or 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. session requires participants to bring their own lunch), July 7 to Aug. 8. No family discounts. These programs are for age 6 or completed kindergarten, up to and including age 13. Guest instructors from local studios, plus sports, art, crafts, play, dance and talent show. We will have field trips/in-house presentations weekly for an additional fee. Cost $125 per child for Townsend residents for the 9 a.m. to noon session, $200 for the longer session. Ashby residents pay $155 and $230, while out-of-town patrons pay $180 and $255.
Parent/Toddler Program: Kid’s Kountry Playground, 9:30-11 a.m. Counselor will oversee free play, story time, craft time, snack time and games, while parents help. Program will be held July 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31, Aug. 5 and 7. Parents are responsible for their own child’s morning snack. (Playground is located at the corner of Eastman and Turnpike Roads.) Payments must be made by Friday, June 20 to avoid a per-person late fee.
Summer Rec. Tennis: For Townsend/Ashby, Aug. 11-15, Monday through Friday; 1-2 p.m. for 6-10 year olds; 2-3 p.m. for 11-16 year olds, held at the Ashby town courts, Main Street, Ashby (to the right of the Town Hall).
