Spaulding Memorial School presented its Second-Grade Spring Concert, in the SMS gymnasium. Directed by Amanda HIrd, the second grade chorus opened the concert, followed by class performances, as well as combined performances by all the second-grade classes.

Music and performanaces included "The Circle of Life" from the "The Lion King", "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from "Mary Poppins" and "We Go On" from the EPCOT fireworks show "Illuminations".

Following the choral performance, there were five songs performed by all the second grade classes combined. The first piece was the "Star Spangled Banner” followed by "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", "This Land Is Your Land" by Woody Guthrie, "The Siamese Cat Song" from "Lady and the Tramp" and "Promise" from "Illuminations".

Individual class performances featured "Nigun" an American circle dance, featuring Ms. O’Dell’s class. Ms. O’Dell’s class also perfomred "Cruella Devil" from "One Hundred and One Dalmations".

Mrs. Freitag’s class sang "Hakuna Matata" from the "The Lion King.” and "Dinna Juda", a Yugoslavian folk dance. Mrs. Maher’s students performed "Fjaskern", a Swedish folk dance and "I Just Can’t Wait To Be King" from the "The Lion King".

Mrs. Gregg’s class performed the famous "Mickey Mouse March" from the television show "The Mickey Mouse Club" and performed "Sneaky Snake". Mrs. Brooke’s class performed "Bannielou Lambao", a French circle dance.

Mrs. Brooke’s class performed "Under The Sea" from "The Little Mermaid.”

And what SMS concert would be complete without singing the "SMS Alma Mater"? The words are by Anne Foresman, Helen Minehan, and Kathleen Tracy, all former teachers at Spaulding.
