Blood drive: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Townsend VFW Post 6538: Co-hosted by the Hyde family, in honor of Emily Hyde being cancer free for five years and sponsored by VFW Post 6538 and its Ladies Auxiliary. Donors must be 17 or older, in good health, weigh 110 or more and have not given blood in the last 56 days. American Red Cross requires positive ID. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are strongly urged, for quicker service, by calling toll-free (800) GIVE-LIFE.

School Committee: 7:30 p.m. meeting, North Middlesex Regional High School, 19 Main St., Townsend; Regular meeting of the North Middlesex Regional School District School Committee.

Library Trustees: 7 p.m. meeting, Memorial Hall.

Nomination deadline: Last day to submit nominations for the William E. May Endowment Award, given to Townsend residents who give of themselves and contribute to the growth and betterment of the community. Submit nominees to the William E. May Endowment Committee, c/o Friends of the Townsend Seniors, P.O. Box 972, Townsend, MA 01469. The awards banquet will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at Townsend Ridge Country Club.

Kelly Miller Circus: 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. shows, Hawthorne Brook Middle School field. ONE DAY ONLY! Circus elephants will erect the big top around 9 a.m. Tickets are available at Brick Steamer, town clerk and tax collector’s offices, Worker’s Credit Union and Lunenburg Liquors in Lunenburg. “Aladdin” auditions

Director Ben Mahon will be holding auditions for Aladdin, in Memorial Hall, on Friday, June 27 at 6 p.m. The auditions may overlap into the next night, if needed.

Anyone who has completed sixth grade and up are eligible to try out. Please prepare a monologue and a cold reading will be available for you to read as well. Rehearsals will be on the common on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-8 p.m., beginning on Monday, June 30.

Aladdin will be presented free of charge on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m.
