Annual spring carnival: Town Field; The annual carnival to benefit the Pepperell Fourth of July Committee continues until Saturday.

Monthly breakfast: 9 a.m., Pepperell Senior Center; The nurses from Lowell General Hospital will be cooking breakfast, followed by a presentation on strokes. A $2 donation is requested for breakfast.

Friday matinee: 12:30 p.m., Pepperell Senior Center; Free movie screenings on the big flat-screen TV, this week, “Alvin & The Chipmunks.”

Saturday, May 31

Monthly supper: 5-7 p.m., Grange Hall, Park Street; Prescott Grange and the Beacon Lodge of Odd Fellows host monthly suppers on the last Saturday of the month, September to June.

Tuesday, June 3

Voter registration: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., town clerk’s office, Town Hall; Late day to register to take part in the special town election on June 23. Citizens may register to vote at any time prior to that date during regular business hours.

Arizona trip: 1 p.m., Pepperell Senior Center; Slide show about a trip being planned by the Council on Aging to Arizona and the Grand Canyon in October. (Have you seen the clear platform that extends out over the canyon?) Free and open to all.

Bingo: 2 p.m., Pepperell Senior Center; Weekly bingo game held after lunch.

Saturday, June 7

Senior yard sale: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pepperell Senior Center, Nashua Road; Annual yard sale by the Friends of the Pepperell Seniors is one of the biggest around. Donations accepted on Friday, June 6, but no heavy items or computers, please. Set-up takes place the night before.

Summer Fair: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., St. David’s Episcopal Church, 180 South Road; Vendors (including Silpada jewelry and Tupperware, and Pampered Chef), raffles, pony rides, moon walk, plant sale and lots of food. Rain date June 8.

Nathan B. Marti: 12:30 to 6 p.m., Four Points Sheraton, Leominster; Fund-raiser for the Nathan B. Marti Fund, in honor of a 2001 North Middlesex grad killed in Washington, D.C., in 2007. Event will include a Nintendo Wii tournament, non-alcoholic “beer pong” and other games. Admission is free for all ages. For more information visit

Golf tournament

The North Middlesex All-Sports Athletic Boosters will hold their 18th annual golf tournament on Friday, June 20, at Townsend Ridge Country Club.

The scramble format event, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, will be followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.

Cost is $100 per person ($400 per foursome) before June 4.

Mahony tribute

Please join family and friends at Pepperell’s Lawrence Library on Thursday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. to dedicate a granite bench honoring Amos and Pauline Mahony. Funds have been raised by numerous local groups and individuals in appreciation of the Mahony’s lifelong dedication to Pepperell’s civic organizations and residents. Mill Site Study

The Board of Selectmen is seeking interested citizens to participate in studies and related committee work directed toward the potential future development and use of the former paper mill site at Main and Mill streets. Individuals with particular experience and/or expertise in matters related to such a study are particularly welcome.

Responses are requested on or before June 5 but all vacancies will remain open until filled.

Hanna Montana party: 10-11:30 a.m. (ages 3-5) or 3:30-5 p.m. (ages 6-8), Pepperell Community Center; Wear your favorite funky clothes (wigs too!) then proceed to wardrobe for accessories then attend an action photo shoot before performing on stage as Hanna Montana. Cupcakes and drinks served. Sponsored by Pepperell Rec., cost $20 each.

Casablanca by the Sea: 8:30 a.m. departure, Pepperell Senior Center; Join the Friends of the Pepperell Seniors on a trip to Portland, Maine, with lunch at the Dunstan School House Buffet, a 20-minute cruise and shopping in the newly renovated Old Port.
