GROTON — The Groton-Dunstable girls track team used its strength in the running events to roll to a MidWach B League championship. The Lady Crusaders finished with 144 points, easily outdistancing second-place Marlborough, who had 98.5.

Eva Mahan paced the Lady Crusaders by capturing both the discus with a toss of 102-11, and the 100 meters with a clocking of 13.1. Groton-Dunstable’s eight first-place finishes keyed their victory.

Ali MacLeod struck gold in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.5, and added a fifth-place finish in the long jump.

Other Groton-Dunstable first-place finishes came from Micaela Lacombe in the 2-mile (11:36.1), Fran Costello in the 300 meter hurdles (48.0), and Sarah Hilton in the 200 meters (27.5).

Two Groton-Dunstable relay teams also finished on top, the 4 X 100 team winning in 51.8, and the 4 X 400 team prevailing in 4:18.6.

Three other Lady Crusaders scored in multiple events. Michaela Longo had a productive day with third-place finishes in both the triple jump and the 300 meter hurdles, along with a fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, and a sixth in the pole vault.
