Half the ride’s proceeds will be donated to the project, which us currently fund-raising to build its fourth school in the Kolondieba District in southern Mali, West Africa, in a partnership with Save the Children, an A-rated international charitable organization.
The ride will begin at Willowbrook Farm in Groton. The course will be approximately 20 miles on Saturday, June 7, and 15 miles on Sunday, June 8, with shorter loops available each day.
The trails in Groton have excellent footing and the course consists mostly of scenic woodland trails and roads. New trails may be offered on recently acquired conservation land.
The entry fee includes morning coffee and doughnuts or muffins both days, an on-trail snack, and a meal afterwards. On Saturday, riders will be treated to an authentic home-cooked African meal, with dishes from Morocco, Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.
