Before working on his School Committee campaign, I first came to know of Jon Sjoberg as an active presence in our church, where our daughters attend Sunday school together. I have witnessed his passion and commitment to being a good citizen and a positive role model for all our children. One cannot help but be impressed with his honest and forthright nature, his willingness to listen with empathy to young and old, and to the sincerity and enthusiasm he brings to the tasks he takes on.
I applaud his decision to take on yet another challenge in running for School Committee. I want to encourage voters, and in particular parents of children new to the district, to get to know a little more about Jon. For one opportunity, please consider attending Candidates’ Night on Tuesday, May 13, 7:30 p.m., at the Groton Country Club. I am confident that by making the effort you will be inspired to give him the endorsement of your vote on May 20.
