For the past two years, two local churches have endeavored to establish a genial atmosphere conducive to sharing one Catholic priest. St. Francis Xavier Church in Bolton and St. Theresa, the Little Flower Church in Harvard, share Rev. Dennis J. O’Brien as their pastor.
In an act of solidarity, parishioners from both churches walked the 5 miles between the two churches carrying a cross symbolic of the Christian commemoration of Good Friday. Close to 100 people walked in gusty winds and near freezing temperatures along Bolton Road.
Both Chief Denmark of Harvard and Chief Alfano of Bolton sent squad cars to ensure the safety of the participants. We want to thank them for providing a safe route for our walkers. Cooperation like we received seems unique to our small towns.
