A few years ago, a friend invited me to join Curves for Women in Pepperell. Although I hesitated at first, I made the move to better health and to my surprise have been an avid member ever since.

Soon after joining, I realized that I was benefiting from the Curves exercise circuit. I noticed a dramatic increase in my stamina and I felt more energetic and healthy as time went forward. I also found myself enjoying the social side of this group.

Claire Regan is the owner/proprietor of Pepperell’s Curves franchise. She maintains her club with a dedication to the health and safety of all members. The machines are constantly being monitored and, if necessary, updated with new parts to maintain the highest performance while ensuring a great workout for all members. She spends her free time (sometimes with her husband and two children) to ensure the club is always a clean and cheerful place for our workouts.

Going above and beyond the healthy exercise routines, Claire instills an active interest in the community. She organizes members to join her in actively supporting our community although she resides outside the area. Some of her routine interests are in keeping St. Joseph’s PACH Food Pantry well stocked, gathering a group to prepare and serve lunch at the Senior Center monthly, setting up a booth at the Health Fair for the seniors, forming a team to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, baking for our troops who are stationed in Iraq as well as providing them with some of the necessities from home and working with DARE Santa Project at Christmas to help provide gifts and wrapping. She also hosted a speaker from the New England Organ Donor Bank’s Donate Life program.

The members of Pepperell’s Curves are like family. They are a very compatible, personable group who volunteer to assist Claire in all of her community endeavors and on the whole make life fun. Currently she is running a weight-loss challenge with several teams of five, competing against each other to be the biggest losers. As you can imagine, this creates lots of laughs and ribbing between groups while instilling some great new life choices.

Some of you may have seen us in the Fourth of July parade. If you didn’t watch for us this year!

If you’re ready to get moving, make friends and have fun, I would say that Curves, Pepperell, is worth checking out it is a diamond in the Lomar Industrial Park.

Sincerely,

JUANITA WILLIAMS
