To all of my friends, supporters, neighbors and fellow residents:

As I reflected this morning over the events culminating in (the April 1) election results, I could not help but remind myself of a mantra that was first implanted in me many, many years ago as an enthusiastic participant in my own high school sporting program. It ran something along the lines of it should never be all about whether you simply win or lose. Rather, it is more important that you play the game and that you do so with pride, dignity and to the best of your ability. That way, we all win.

In my own words, then, and with that same spirit in mind, I am truly gratified and humbled to have been given the opportunity and trust of so many to serve our children, our schools and our community. And I am no less appreciative of the considerable effort and dignity with which all SC candidates ran their candidacies. Everyone who ran deserves our sincere thanks, gratitude and respect.
