PAT fought a hard battle but were overmatched by hard-working Gardner. Jacy Kretas scored PAT’s first goal on a first period breakaway. Katie Babineau netted the second goal to keep things close. The PAT defense skated hard and made some nice plays in the game. Jack Harrison, Michael Murphy and Owen Marr all skated hard and had outstanding games. Nicholas Joy put on the pads for PAT and made several outstanding saves.

SQUIRT (CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT)

Tewksbury 1

PAT opened the George “Timmy” Ernest Christmas Tournament with a resounding win over host Tewksbury. The first period saw Justin score his first of four goals in the game, the result of outstanding extra efforts by himself and linemates Chris Babineau and Jaret Conner (two assists each). Sean Mullen also scored the first of his three goals midway through the first period. Sean and Justin continued to score over the remainder of the game, receiving additional assists from Jarrod Dussault, Josh McLeman(3), and Jaret Conner(2). After fantastic efforts all game, Kelty Delaney put the icing on the cake late in the third period, assisted by Kyle Joy. As always, Ryan Leedham frustrated Tewksbury’s attempts to score many times.

Woburn 2

Jaret Conner opened up the scoring with his first of two goals. He was nicely set up on both goals by linemate Chris Babineau. Kelty Delaney continued her scoring efforts with a goal at 5:31 of the second period. Sean Mullen added two more tallies, while Conner added his second goal.

Game 3

Acton/Boxboro 5

PAT 2

PAT came up against their familiar opponents in the third contest of the tournament as the two teams have gone back and forth several times this season. The teams are well matched and this time Acton/Boxboro gained the edge. Sean Mullen and Joey Sheridan scored goals for PAT.

Game 4

Acton/Boxboro 2

Both teams came to play in the championship game. Justin Kauppi capped off his superb tournament with two more goals and a solid effort throughout. Kyle Joy and Josh McLeman both stepped up with goals as well, with help from Sean Mullen and Jaret Conner. Ryan Leedham held firm in net and shut down Acton/Boxboro at the right times. It should be noted that it took every one of these kids’ superb efforts to pull this victory off.

One day of rest after their tournament victory was plenty as PAT battled hard all game long, executed everything they have been taught, but the puck wouldn’t go into the net. Ryan Leedham was extraordinary in net as he stopped Burlington assaults.
