LOWELL — Robert A. Caruso, chairman of The Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, has announced that the bank will be extending its core hours of operation, beginning in 2008.

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 2, branch hours will extend to include Wednesdays until 3 p.m.

The extended hours are the final component in a series of modifications the bank has implemented over the past two years, focused on delivering consistent, quality products and services. Last year, the bank added three new business development officers in order to assist with commercial growth. In addition, Lowell Five also developed a “switch kit” to simplify the process of switching banks and recently added sweep accounts to their commercial product offerings.

The increase in hours is in response to a growing commercial banking division.
