PEPPERELL — Lawrence Library Assistant Director Susan Arthur, who also serves as director of adult services, is leaving her post Jan. 11 to move to Belgium, Director Debra Spratt announced this week.

Arthur’s husband, Scot, a treasury professional, has been re-assigned.

“She’s been a great asset and we’ll miss her tremendously,” Spratt said. “It will be hard to do without her.”

The library will soon be advertising for Arthur’s replacement.

Arthur said two of the couple’s three sons — Nick, 14, and Will, 7 — will be moving with them. A third son, Christian, 17, will live with family friends in Groton while he finishes his junior year at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School then follow his family overseas.

“I don’t have much choice,” Arthur said. “I love my job here and the people. I’m sure I can find something as satisfying in Belgium.” — Don Eriksson
