AYER — The Conservation Commission has issued a negative determination for a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) from fire Chief Robert Pedrazzi to build an earthen berm to prevent flooding in the new fire station’s parking lot.

A negative determination on an RDA means the commission finds the state and local wetlands regulations don’t apply to the project in question. It also requires no further hearings and conditions.

The commission also voted to issue a negative determination to Calvin Moore for work on a culvert on his Nashua Street property.

Moore’s representative engineer, Sean Hale, told the commission at its Nov. 8 meeting that there’s little flow through the culvert.

“It would barley meet the definition of a channel,” he said. — Richard Breyer
