TOWNSEND — Evans on the Common, of Townsend, and Yaleet Inc., distributors of Naot footwear, have teamed together to donate 60 pairs of quality shoes to Battered Women’s Resource Inc., of Leominster and Gardner.

Evans on the Common has provided the residents of Massachusetts and New Hampshire with quality footwear and clothing since its beginning in 1979. Owner Gary Evans and his son, Matthew, are active members of the community, participating in many community functions and organizations. Gary and Matt, along with Yaleet Inc. feel very strongly that they should contribute back to their community and to individuals who are less fortunate.

On Nov. 19, Evans on the Common, along with Yaleet, will donate 60 pairs of Naot shoes and sandals to BWRI, an organization that strives to create a community free from domestic violence, with the help of shipping donated by UPS.

Naot footwear is manufactured in Israel and is one of the leading comfort footwear brands in the market. Since 1991, Yaleet Inc. and Naot have been donating shoes to people in need with the help of their generous retailers. Woman’s shelters, hurricane victims, homeless shelters and drug rehabilitation facilities are among the types of charities that have benefited from this program. In addition, each year Yaleet Inc. makes generous contributions to the fight against breast cancer.

Battered Women’s Resource is located in Leominster and Gardner and has been providing services and housing for battered women since 1978. In addition to temporary housing, BWRI has also helped many women and children remain safe, get back on their feet, and move on to a life free of violence.
