The Dunstable Artisans would like to thank all the guests that attended the group’s 18th annual show in October.

It’s wonderful to see the many familiar faces that visit the event each year, as well as those community members that attend for the first time.

There are many individuals and organizations that help to make the show possible, and the Dunstable Artisans would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the following:

Dexter Stevens, CPA, for his years of service in the group’s business endeavors; Karen Tuomi, director of the Peter Twomey Youth Center, for helping to book the gym each October; John Sawyer and the Groton-Dunstable facilities staff, who do a great job in preparing the gym for the event; the students from the Groton-Dunstable Music Honor Society for hosting a wonderful bake sale; The Groton-Dunstable Art Department and the art students who exhibit their unique talents in the Student Art Show; the Groton Public Library for displaying the artisans’ work in the library; and the Dunstable library for the meeting space it provides during the jury process.

The artisans would also like to acknowledge the many local organizations and businesses that participated in the Corporate Sponsorship Program to benefit the High School Scholarship Program and the Student Art Show awards:

Charter Communications; The Cat Doctor; Dennis Murphy Insurance Agency; Paul DiMattia and Associates, DMD; Ellaprints Photographic Art; GOTOTHEBOARD.COM; Groton Market; Handworks Gallery; Harvard Double Reeds; Local Color Design Inc.; and Salubris Muscular Therapy. Thank you very much for supporting arts education in the schools.

In addition, to everyone who attended the first ever Preview Party on Friday night, thank you for “Stepping Up and Stepping Out for the Arts.”

All members of the Dunstable Artisans contribute in many ways to ensure a successful show, and there are several members that took on special tasks this year: Ella Carlson, of Ellaprints, created the wonderful postcards and posters to publicize the event; Carol Case, Groton-Dunstable High School art teacher, organized the outstanding Student Art Show that was enjoyed by all; Janice Toth for publicity; and Sue Landsman was key in organizing the Preview Party — thank you for arranging the great food and live music for that new aspect of the show.

The Dunstable Artisans look forward to another exciting year in 2008.
