Mobile home residents have until Oct. 31 for sewer tie-ins

PEPPERELL — The Board of Health has approved the extension of a finish date for internal Suburban Village Mobile Home Park sewer hookups until Oct. 31, at the request of the park owner’s attorney, Peter Knox.

Knox reported that the privately-funded main sewer line up Oak Hill and Maple streets was complete and had been pressurized. The privately-built pumping station on Oak Hill Street had been tested and turned over to the Sewer Department in preparation for a Special Town Meeting vote on town ownership of the facility.

Knox said the sewer line contractor estimated the lateral connections to mobile homes would be completed in two weeks.

Left undetermined is the status of a lawsuit filed by the United Homeowners of Suburban Village in objection to last month’s $150 per month rent hike by owner Rene LaFleur. The rate hike, the residents contend, is far above state guidelines. — Don Eriksson
