To the Lawrence Library, Moppet School, fellow Girl Scouts and town of Pepperell,

I would like to thank all of you for your help, support and donations for my recent book drive for the Andrew Jackson Elementary School of Chalmette, La. Thanks to all of you, I was able to collect just under 500 books for the school.

As you all know, Hurricane Katrina destroyed everything. The school that I worked with lost all of the books in its library. All of the support you had for me and my project not only helped to rebuild their library, it gave them the hope they need to make it through this disaster.

I traveled down to Louisiana recently, and I was able to meet the librarians I have been working with. They were very grateful and appreciative of all of you.

Thank you so much for taking part in my Gold Award Project. It really means a lot to me to have my town’s support and encouragement.

If you’re looking for more ways to help out, visit www.commongroundrelief.org. I hope you all have a great summer!
