They were bright, articulate, beautiful — and talking about crime. Cyber-crime, murder, you name it.
The panel of New England women mystery authors who gathered at the Shirley Library on June 14 shared their experiences, and the audience was entranced.
One audience member even asked, “Do you ever fear for your safety?”
This came after the description given by one of the authors of investigating a sociopath and by another of being targeted by stalkers online. They shared details about their writing processes, the investigations they have undertaken, and the differences between writing true crime and mystery fiction.
Put on free of charge by the Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library, it was a truly enjoyable evening. If you’d like to add some mystery or true crime to your summer reading list, look up these vibrant New England authors: Jayne Hitchcock, Margaret Press and Kate Flora. I know I will.
