AYER — Nashoba Valley Medical Center has announced the promotion of Alice Farrington as director of the emergency department. A nurse for 35 years, Farrington has specialized in ambulatory, critical care and emergency nursing, having most recently served as a clinical leader of Nashoba’s ED since 2004. Prior to 2004, she was a nursing supervisor and on-site administrator, an ED registered nurse, and an assistant nurse manager of the emergency department. Farrington is a resident of Groton.

“I am pleased to name Alice to this position,” said Nashoba Valley Medical Center’s director of nursing Pat Maguire. “In addition to being a seasoned leader with numerous accomplishments to her credit, Alice is an expert clinical nurse who has earned the respect of our patients, the ED team, interdisciplinary colleagues and the community. We are delighted that she has agreed to serve as the ED director.”
