GROTON — Seven area students were recognized at Lawrence Academy’s cum laude awards assembly on May 1.

For academic excellence, Harvard senior Daniel Russo, Ayer senior Leanna Slarsky, Pepperell junior Kelly Cleary, and Groton juniors Kelley Decoteau, Amanda Sibley and Kathryn Woo were inducted into Lawrence Academy’s chapter of the Cum Laude Society. Russo was also awarded the Peter S. Yozell 41 history and social sciences award and the tower mathematics prize. Woo received the Bausch and Lomb honorary science medal for outstanding achievement in mathematics and science. Groton senior Emily Lindemer, who was inducted into the Cum Laude Society last year, was awarded the Thompson English prize this year.
