Volunteers honored for their service to local Girl Scouts

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — At the Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council’s annual meeting in April, three Pepperell women were recognized for their outstanding volunteer commitment to Girl Scouting.

Kathy Batchelder, Robin Boettcher and Robin Dalton were honored by their peers with the Appreciation Pin. This award recognizes outstanding service by a member of the Girl Scouting movement in one or more neighborhoods.

Batchelder has served in a variety of Girl Scout roles. She has been a troop leader, town registrar, troop organizer, secretary and treasurer. She goes above and beyond to keep Girl Scouting exciting for the girls in her troop and throughout the town.

Boettcher has been a leader for 11 years, guiding girls from elementary school through to high school. She works on town-wide events, helps new leaders, and advises older girls working on their silver or gold awards. For the past two years she has also shared responsibility with Robin Dalton for coordinating the group of key volunteers who direct Girl Scouting efforts in Pepperell.

Dalton has been a Girl Scout troop leader for 14 years, running troops for kindergartners through high-school age. She also helps organize new troops in town, plans encampments and gives training workshops for other adult volunteers.
