AYER — Town administrator Shaun Suhoski has announced that the town has been awarded two sizable checks by the state School Building Assistance Program.
The announcement was made at the Board of Selectmen’s Feb. 27 meeting.
The first check will be for $443,000 to reimburse roof repairs at the school complex. There’s borrowing with that project, said Suhoski, and the money will be put toward the debt service.
Another $204,000 was awarded as a reimbursement for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) upgrades. That sum figures to be allocated toward the town’s general fund as per agreements made with the School Committee leading up to the recent Special Town Meeting, said Suhoski. — Nathan Lamb
