AYER — Gervais Ford has secured a site-plan approval from the Planning Board to expand its Carlton Circle dealership.
The plan calls for 105 parking spaces and a 16,000-square-foot maintenance/repair facility on a Littleton Road parcel that abuts the dealership.
The board approved those specs March 1. The design was under review for several months and most recently was evaluated by the town’s consultants.
There doesn’t appear to be any lingering issues, said board Chairman Elizabeth Hughes.
“Ultimately, it appears all previous comments addressed in our letters have been addressed,” said Hughes.
Those issues included assuring that lighting and additional parking have a minimal effect on the neighboring residential area.
Parking will be used for new and used merchandise, said Gervais General Manager Mark Fermanian. Overall, he said he’s satisfied with the decision.
“We did, with few exceptions, get close to what we wanted,” he said. “Obviously it was agreeable in the end.”
Approval came on a 4-0 vote, with member Patricia Walsh abstaining.
