HOLYOKE — Elizabeth “Betty” (Donoghue) Cloutier, 85, a lifelong resident of Holyoke, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
She was born in Holyoke, the daughter of the late Roger and Mary Ellen (O’Connor) Donoghue, and was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, Holyoke High School, O’Connell Business School and Westfield State College.
Betty was a current resident of Providence Place, and was a retired adjudicator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was the widow of Alfred W. Cloutier, who died in 1996. Elizabeth is survived by her four children: Alfred J. of Chapel Hill, N.C., Peter J. of Warrenton, Va., John P. of Northampton, and Mary Jude Keating of Groton, Mass. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Megan, Morgan, Tyler, Peter, Matthew, Neil, William, John and Cassie Cloutier, and Maggie, Michael and Patrick Keating. Betty was the sister of Margaret “Peggy” Donoghue and Roger Donoghue of Holyoke, and Jack Donoghue of Folsom, Calif., cousin to Jack Kennedy of Southwick, Mass., and beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary O’Neil of Chicopee.
The funeral was held Friday, March 2, at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial followed in St. Jerome Cemetery.
