Thank You, thank you, thank you!
It is almost impossible for us to thank so many of our customers, friends and relatives for the send-off we received to start our retirement. To look back, it has been a short 70 years of doing business in West Groton Center. Many came from long distances to say goodbye and good luck to us at “The Little Green Store.”
The mothers, fathers and grandparents were my kid customers before World War II. It was great to see them again. I can’t forget to mention my brother “Launy” and his wife “Babe” and my three sisters, Helen, Tee and Mary, who played an important part in all the activities those many years.
I wish to mention the complete coverage by the Groton Landmark and the Groton Herald was outstanding and appreciated. They made our day. It was not easy to vacate such a building in such a short time. Again, I appreciated the help from our “locals,” too many to name, all for the fear of missing one. Every person in our little village offered their services. Sis and I will be around; we will not be leaving town. (Maybe a trip to Ashby once in a while.)
I was happy to have found a young couple interested in carrying on where we left off. I wish them good luck and happiness and your support in “The Square” in West Groton.
We will never forget any of you and the many good times in “The Square” in West Groton.
Most sincere thanks,
HELEN ‘SIS’ SWEICA
