TOWNSEND — Several unregistered vehicles, illegally parked at a Wallace Hill Road residence, have been a topic of discussion among selectmen.

At the board’s Jan. 24 meeting, Vice Chairman Maureen Denig reported that two of the vehicles have been removed by the tenants, and one unregistered vehicle — allowed under the town’s bylaws — will be moved 75 feet from the road in accordance with regulations.

Late last year, Selectman David Chenelle was tasked with inspecting the property, and gave the board a detailed report concerning the illegally-parked vehicles.

At the time, Chenelle told the board that at least three vehicles on the property were unregistered, and it appeared that license plates had been switched between the vehicles.

Property owners have 30 days to remove illegally parked vehicles once they receive a certified letter of violation from the selectmen.

After the 30 days, the fine for unregistered vehicles stored on a premises is $100 per day, per violation, according to the town’s bylaws. — Keyna Thomas
