SHIRLEY — The town’s annual town election is scheduled to take place Tuesday, May 8, at the Municipal Offices at 7 Keady Way from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To run for office, a candidate must live in and be a registered voter of the town of Shirley. Candidates for town office, including individuals running for re-election, need to come to the town clerk’s office to take out nomination papers. After gathering signatures and street addresses of no less than 24 registered voters of Shirley, candidates need to return the papers to the town clerk (for the Board of Registrars) by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20.
Campaign finance forms and information will be distributed to each candidate when he or she takes out nomination papers. These may also be downloaded from the town clerk’s page of the town Web site, www.shirley-ma.gov.
