GROTON — The Groton Trails Committee (GTC) plans to publish a series of articles to inform residents of opportunities to use trails on public and conservation properties, and let them know of related events.

Groton has the largest land area of any town in Middlesex County. Twenty-five percent of the land is protected. Much of it is accessible to the public.

GTC will be highlighting new projects recently completed which give access to beautiful, protected places in our town where one can most appreciate the sights, sounds and feel of the outdoors. Many trail maps are available online at www.ci.groton.ma.us. Look for the trail maps tab under information.

We would also like to mention the noteworthy contributions of Paul Funch, whose dedicated service to the town should be recognized.
