GLOUCESTER — June B. (Forsberg) Brown, 71, wife of Richard E. Brown DMD, of 27 Souther Road, Gloucester, died on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Gloucester, MA on June 28, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Frank E.R. and Olga (Olson) Forsberg.

Mrs. Brown attended Gloucester schools and was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1953. She was also a graduate of Forsythe School of Dental Hygiene and was a dental hygienist for many years with her husband’s dental practice.

Mrs. Brown was an active golfer and tennis player for many years at the Bass Rocks Golf and Tennis Club.

In later years, she enjoyed line dancing at Miss Tina’s School of Dance.

Mrs. Brown also enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dr. Richard E. Brown, of Gloucester; a daughter, Cheryl Emerson, and her husband, Robert of Milford, NH; a son, Eric Hutchins, and his wife, Julia, of Rockport; a sister, Frances Nelson, of Venice, FL; stepchildren, David Brown, and his companion, Kathy Carroll, of Gloucester, Dianna Monast, and her husband, Kenneth, of Wareham, Douglas Brown, and his wife, Lise, of Rockport, Deanna Duplak, of Townsend, Derek Brown, and his wife, Tammy, of Deerfield, NH; grandchildren, Corey Emerson, Sean Emerson, Heather Marshall, Emily Marshall, T.J. Marshall, Alexa Duplak, Jessica Duplak, Ashley Brown and Danny Brown.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Independent Christian Church, Unitarian-Universalist, 50 Middle St., Gloucester, on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

The burial will be privately held in Locust Grove Cemetery, Lanesville. The family has requested no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the V.N.A. Care Network, 8 Angle St., Gloucester, MA 01930, the Shriners Burns Institute, Boston Unit, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114-2623, the Cape Ann Animal Aid Assoc., 260 Main St., Gloucester, MA 01930, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the James C. Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester.
