TOWNSEND — Shirley M. (Drake) Wright, 83, a longtime resident of Brookline, N.H., died May 19, 2006, at Greenbriar Healthcare Terrace in Nashua, N.H.

She was born in Danbury, N.H., on September 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Howard A. and Estella N. (Huntoon) Drake.

Mrs. Wright had been a resident of Brookline for 50 years and had formerly resided in Hollis, N.H., for a short time.

She had been employed as a seamstress at Hall Manufacturing Company in Brookline, N.H., for 45 years and retired at the age of 79 when they closed their doors in 2001.

In addition, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, crocheting, knitting and going out to eat with her friends.

Mrs. Wright was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.

She was a member of the Brookline Community Church.

Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Wright; and two brothers, Leslie Drake and Frederick Drake.

Family members include her daughter and fianc , Barbara A. King and Fred Roberts Jr. of Corinth, Maine; two grandsons and their companions, Brett D. King and Pam Galeota, and Bart R. King and Amy Kilfoyle, all of Townsend, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Briana and Dana King of Swanzey, N.H., Alyssa King of Groton, Mass., and Jared King of Townsend, Mass.; and two sisters, Claris Dukette and Teresa Drake, both of Franklin, N.H.; along with several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held Sunday, May 21, followed by a funeral service on Monday at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home in Milford and burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Brookline, N.H.
