AYER — Thomas J. “Tickey” Tennessee, 44, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Tennessee was born in Ft. Eustis, Va., on August 11, 1961, a son of Arblia (Neal) Tennessee and the late James Tennessee and resided much of his life in Ayer.

Mr. Tennessee worked as a truck driver for several area companies including the Ayer Moving & Storage Company. He was a graduate of Ayer High School.

Besides his mother of Ayer, he is survived by a son, Thomas J. Tennessee Jr., also of Ayer; a daughter, Starsha E. Tennessee of Ayer; two brothers, Roosevelt Proctor of Leominster and Oliver Tennessee of Ayer; two sisters, Olivia Tennessee of Lithonia, Ga., and Brenda J. Burwell of Leominster; and his god-brother Sebastian Turner of Carencro, La.

He was the brother of the late Ronald W. Tennessee of Ayer, who died in November 1993.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 24, at the New Hope Community Church in Ayer, followed by burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery. T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Ayer, handled arrangements for the family.
