TOWNSEND — If you are a senior citizen, age 60 or over, and a resident taxpayer, the town of Townsend offers opportunities to exchange your time and talents for a $500 property tax credit.

There are no income or asset restrictions, only the ability to perform a service needed by a town department.

Selected individuals must complete 64.5 hours of service by April 15, 2007.

Tax credits are earned at the rate of $7.75 per hour.

Applications can be obtained at the Senior Center or assessor’s office located in Memorial Hall.
