AYER — Overall, the omnibus budget appropriated $19,708,861 for school and municipal services in fiscal year 2007, up from the $19,019,944 approved in FY06.

On the revenue side, the town was listed as having $20,188,921 available for appropriation, less $116,480 to support enterprise funds and $300,600 for miscellaneous articles.

After subtracting the omnibus from that equation, a remainder of $62,980 was earmarked to be transferred into the town’s stabilization fund.

Town accountant Lisa Gabree noted that the figures, while balanced, were crafted using the governor’s budget proposal. She noted that the budget from the House of Representatives carried a reduction of $137,000 in school aid, saying that modifications would be needed if the Senate doesn’t restore that aid.

”We’d have to come back to town meeting to make adjustments or find new revenue streams,” she said. — Nathan Lamb
