In a front-page story in last week’s Groton Landmark, an error was made. A story about the status report on the middle schools, as discussed before the Groton-Dunstable Regional School Committee, contained an incorrectly-attributed quote.

“Children are being sacrificed,” read the quote, “and they have a lot to lose.”

The actual speaker was parent P.J. Patierno, according to reporter Pierre Comtois, and not Janet O’Hara, the parent attributed with saying it.

Patierno was one of several parents expressing at least some level of dissatisfaction with the middle school reorganization report.

Our apologies for the error.
