To the Townsend voters,
My name is Maureen Denig, and I am running for the three-year position of Selectman in Townsend. Monday, April 24, is election day in Townsend. The polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please take the time to cast your vote and have a voice in your town government.
During the 21 years that my family has lived in Townsend, I have been involved in various community activities. They include the Finance Committee, North Middlesex Regional School District Committee for 9 years, volunteering as a soccer coach and president of the Townsend and Ashby Youth Soccer Association, coaching soccer and lacrosse at the high school, Project Graduation and most recently the president of the Townsend Business Association.
Professionally, I have been a travel agent for 12 years and the owner of Travel Now Inc. for three years.
As a resident of Townsend and a business owner, I am concerned about managed growth in town. How will we be able to service the needs of our present residents as well as future residents? We have many pressing issues facing us in the coming years such as 40B housing decisions, land development, business development and financial demands.
Our town boards need to be able to communicate well with each other so forward motion can be seen. They need to have policy guidelines and implementation. That is one of the jobs of a selectman. In order for me to try to address these needs, I need your help.
Please vote for me on election day. Thank you for your support.
