HARVARD — An oar belonging to The Bromfield School rowing team that was broken sometime over the weekend at the town beach may have been used as a lever to move something heavy, perhaps to pry a stuck vehicle tire out of the sand.

According to the police report, the oar was valued at about $240. The incident is under investigation. — M.E. Jones
