GROTON — The monthly discussion group led by Tom Hartnett will meet on Monday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m., at the Groton Senior Center. Since Groton’s annual town meeting is that evening, the group may want to discuss some of the issues coming before the town for a vote.
The most complicated article, to be handled in a special town meeting within the general town meeting, is the proposal for the town to contribute $5.65 million in Community Preservation Act funds to the $19.2 million purchase of the 360-acre Surrenden Farms property. Hartnett will have up-to-date information on the land and terms of purchase.
The monthly “Talk with Tom” program was started by the Friends of the Groton Elders and is open to all area residents. If you enjoy sharing ideas and experiences, you will find “Talk with Tom” to be a stimulating way to begin your week.
You are also invited to lunch at the Senior Center for a $2 donation. The center asks that you reserve a spot by calling (978) 448-1170 by 11 a.m. on the Friday before the meeting. Next Monday’s entr e is fish with lemon dill sauce.
