GROTON — Senior Megan Gearin enjoyed an outstanding day to lead the Groton-Dunstable girls track team past Quabbin 86-59.

Gearin captured the long jump with a leap of 14-10, the two mile with a time of 13:15, and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles in 52 seconds. She was also a member of the Lady Crusaders’ winning 4 X 400 relay team, along with Holly Perrin, Julia Seavey and Kate Twombly), which ran a 4:36.

The Lady Crusaders other relay team, the 4 X 100, also struck gold as Brittany Pulford, Egan, Morgan Van Clief, and Heather Hoglund ran a 54.0.

Ali MacLeod enjoyed a productive meet in keying the win, earning a first-place finish in the 400 meters with a clocking of 1:03, and a second-place finish in the 200 meters.

Other Lady Crusaders who won events included: Ashley Gonsalves in the javelin (80-7), Caitlin Murphy in the discus (64-8), Perrin in the mile (6:00), Meredith Roberts in the 800 meters (2:32), and Hoglund in the 200 meters (27.9).

Morgan Van Clief was instrumental in the victory by earning a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 meters and the shot put.

Bethany Staret kept Quabbin close with an outstanding effort, capturing the shot put (32-6), the 100 meter high hurdles (18.9), and the 100 meters (13.6). Kathleen Brokka won both the triple jump and the high jump for the Panthers.
