FITCHBURG — Numerous art, painting and drawing classes will be offered for adults at Fitchburg Art Museum.

”Watercolor For Beginners” will be offered by noted local artist Linda Widstrand, on Tuesdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., from April 25 to June 13. Entry fee is $100 for members and $115 for non-members. Learn basic watercolor techniques and principles in drawing, composition and color, with new principles introduced weekly.

”Drawing Outside The Box” will be taught by Heidi D’Entremont on Thursdays, 1 to 3 p.m., from April 27 to June 1. Entry fee is $75 for members and $90 for non-members. Learn how to draw while loosening up and being expressive, creative and spontaneous. Explore basic techniques such as line, shading, gesture, shape and form with exercises in still-life, portraiture, figure, and non-objective drawing.

Amy Newberg of Design at 639 teaches “Trash to Treasures — The Way Pros Do It!” on Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., from April 27 to June 1. Entry fee is $75 plus materials. Learn the basics to transform your old furniture and accessories into one-of-a-kind heirlooms. Techniques include decoupage, decorative finishes, metal leafing, simple repairs and the secrets to make your pieces last through the next generation.

Alexander Farquharson teaches “Realistic Oil Painting” on Fridays, 1 to 3:30 p.m., from April 28 to June 16. Entry fee is $110 for members and $125 for non-members. All levels are welcome, including beginners who want to learn how to make things look “real” in painting. Work on two paintings (still life and landscape) and learn various techniques.

Farquharson also teaches a new class, “Introduction To Figurative Illustration” on Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to noon, from April 28 to June 16. Entry fee is $110 for members and $125 for non-members. Learn how illustrators develop portraits and full figures using simple volume concepts and structural guidelines.
