GROTON — All Groton area youths over the age of 11 are invited to participate in “Fast for Food,” an overnight event on April 28 hosted by the youth program at Union Congregational Church.

“Fast for Food” is an international student movement in which young people fast for 30 hours to raise awareness and contributions to fight world hunger. The fast will begin after lunch on Friday, April 28. The young people will arrive at the church with overnight gear at 5 p.m., spend the evening learning about world hunger, enjoy activities and hopefully get some sleep. On Saturday, there will be more activities and preparation for UCC’s Spaghetti Dinner, which will be the first meal after the fast.

To participate call Michelle Dilley at (978) 877-7572 or e-mail Michele.Dilley@cancer.org. You may also visit 30hourfamine.org.
