CONCORD — Construction is nearing completion for Emerson Medical at Sudbury, a free-standing health center which will bring Emerson Hospital’s diagnostic services and primary and specialty physician practices direct to Sudbury in one convenient location.
The 17,000-square foot building is located on Chiswick Park on Route 20, across the street from the Stop & Shop plaza.
The new facility, which is expected to open in June, will house a variety of diagnostic services including X-ray, lab, bone density, ultrasound and, eventually, MRI. To date, physicians who will be based in Sudbury include Dr. Paula Jo Carbone, internal medicine (move-in date is June 1) and Mill Brook Pediatrics physicians Lauren Geddes, MD, and William Wirth, MD (move-in date is May 1). Concord Hillside will also have a physician practice based there.
“This new health center will bring to Sudbury and the surrounding communities Emerson’s high-quality patient care services,” said Christine Schuster, Emerson president and CEO. Emerson Medical at Sudbury is the third such satellite facility to be opened by the hospital. Emerson opened its Groton Health Center in 2000 and its Westford Health Center in 1998.
Emerson Hospital, a 177-bed acute care medical center located in Concord, Massachusetts, is well-known for its medical and surgical specialists, outstanding nursing care and patient-centered services. The hospital provides advanced medical service to more than 300,000 individuals in a 25-town region.
