HARVARD — A couple of young employees at Dunkin’ Donuts on Ayer Road had quite a scare last week.

Friends who had come to meet the workers after their shifts, tried to use one of the restrooms, found it was locked and thought they heard a faint voice inside, according to Officer Scott Hughes. The employees called the police.

Hughes said Dunkin’ Donuts employees routinely check the restrooms at closing time, but might not have done so on this particular night. They were worried they might have inadvertently locked someone inside, he said. However, it turned out to be a false alarm. — M.E. Jones
