American Legion Tryouts

Shirley Post 183 American Legion baseball tryouts will be held on Saturday, May 6, Saturday, May 13 and Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Lura A. White School in Shirley. Rich Gedman Baseball Clinic

Rich Gedman, a 17-year veteran of professional baseball, including 13 years with the Boston Red Sox, will be visiting Marshall Park in Lunenburg for a baseball clinic on Sunday, May 7. Gedman is now manager of the Worcester Tornadoes, who were the 2005 champions of the CanAm League in their first year in existence. Gedman, along with Tornadoes’ third base coach Dave Smith, and Tornadoes outfielder Keith Beauregard (Leominster native), plus members of the Lunenburg Phillies Semi-Pro Baseball Club will work with Little League age players on the fundamentals of hitting, throwing and fielding. You can expect skill stations, skill games and a scrimmage game for all participants. Learn the game the way it should be played, and have fun doing it. Registration/autographs will start at 9:30 a.m. on May 7 with the clinic running from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. The cost per play is $30. GD Youth Lacrosse registrations

Groton Dunstable Youth Lacrosse is looking for girls to sign up for the U-11 (grade 3&4), U-13 (grades 5&6), and U-15 (grades 7&8). The teams play in the MBYLL, a league with over 6,000 girls. This is your chance to try this exciting sport. Please visit the website at or call (978)302-5816.

Groton Dunstable Youth Lacrosse is taking registrations for its “stick” league. This is a co-ed program for K-2nd graders. All the necessary equipment, except mouth guards, will be provided.
