GROTON — All are invited to a reading of original poems by Sophie Wadsworth, Laura Moore and Karen Johnson at the Groton Public Library on Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m.

Wadsworth’s collection of poems, “Letters from Siberia,” received the 2004 Jessie Bryce Niles Chapbook Award. Her poetry has also appeared in periodicals such as The Sycamore Review, Sanctuary, Crab Orchard Review and Meridian.

Wadsworth conducts poetry workshops locally and teaches writing at Newbury College.

Moore has had poetry, essays and short fiction published in various magazines. She has received awards from the Clackamus Literary Review, Glimmer Train and The Common Ground Review.

For the past 23 years, she has taught English at Lawrence Academy. She was recently named the chairman of the English Department there. She has lived in Groton most of her life.

Johnson’s poems have been published in Prairie Schooner, Southern Poetry Review, Tendril and other magazines and anthologies. She has studied with poets Jean Valentine at Provincetown’s Fine Arts Work Center and Ruth Whitman in the Radcliff Seminars program.

A semi-retired native of Wisconsin, she has lived in Massachusetts for 34 years, the past 10 in Groton.
