HARVARD — Harvard artists and craftspeople are invited to exhibit and sell their work at Spring Into Art, a memorial to Edward Pieters, May 12 and 13 in the Harvard Unitarian Church Fellowship Building.

In the spirit of the memorial, there will be no charge to enter or show, but there will be a 20 percent fee on items sold. Items not for sale may also be exhibited. There will be a limit on the number of pieces based on space availability, which will be discussed with each artist/craftsperson.

The Women’s Alliance of the Harvard Unitarian Church wishes to acknowledge the contributions of Edward Pieters to the church and Harvard community. Although a novice watercolorist having begun painting later in life, Pieter’s spirit and enthusiasm infected many. He is remembered as a lively and witty town moderator, a World War II veteran who championed Veterans for Peace and for leading the Memorial Day muster to the town’s war memorials and graves every year.
