AYER — Plans are underway for this year’s Fourth of July celebration scheduled for July 1. A full day of activities are planned including the Main Street parade, entertainment and vendor booths at Pirone Park, an evening band concert and fireworks at dusk.

Sign-up forms for booths at Pirone Park will be sent to all of the organizations that participated last year. They are also available at the Board of Selectmen’s office or by calling (978) 772-8220.

Parade sign-up forms are also available at the selectmen’s office and the above-mentioned phone number. We hope to see a variety of parade entries and floats.

The day’s activities will be filmed by Ayer Public Access Cable (APAC).

The Fourth of July Committee, an all-volunteer committee, has been coordinating Ayer’s celebration for almost 15 years. The committee is open to anyone who wishes to help with fund-raising activities, community booths at Pirone Park or the parade.

For information leave your name and telephone number with the selectmen’s office, and a member of the committee will contact you.
